Outreach Opportunities

Holly Spring Friends Meeting conducts or participates in the following outreach opportunities:

God’s Garden Ministry – We plant mainly potatoes (but a few other vegetables as well) on our property and give away the produce to local food pantries as well as those in need in our community.

Ramseur Food Pantry  - We work there a week at the time. This is done in a rotation with other local churches. We are there once every eight weeks.

Service projects – Our youth, Quaker Men, & USFW are involved in meeting practical needs in the community as they arise. Examples: Yard work & house cleaning for the elderly, home repairs, storm damage repair & clean-up, angel tree, back-pack pals, etc.

Friend Disaster Service – This ministry helps rebuild homes that have been damaged by storms or other natural disasters. We have members who regularly participate in this ministry.

Outreach Caroling – Annually we bring care packages to residents of a local low-income                                                                                             apartment complex as we sing Christmas carols to them. We also carol at local rest homes.

College Student Adoption – Each year our members “adopt” a college student from our church. The goal is to stay in touch with them, pray for them, and reach out to them with cards, care packages, etc.

Ramseur Christmas Parade – We have a nativity scene float in our local parade to give a witness for Christ in our community.

Adult & Teen Challenge – Each year we invite the guys from Greater Piedmont Teen Challenge to come to sing & share their testimonies of deliverance from drug & alcohol addiction through Christ. We take an offering for them & feed them a meal.

Benevolence Fund and “Neighbors in Need” Fund – These funds are used to help those in our church & community who are struggling financially.
